國立中興大學基因體暨生物資訊學研究所致力於結合生命科學、基因體學與生物資訊，從實驗與計算的不同角度探索生命科學問題，並培養能夠跨越生物與資訊領域的研究人才。
The Graduate Institute of Genomics and Bioinformatics at National Chung Hsing University brings together life sciences, genomics, and bioinformatics. We integrate experimental and computational approaches to explore biological questions and train researchers who can work across the boundaries of biology and data science.

基因體定序與資訊科技的快速發展，改變了生命科學研究的方式。從基因體序列到分子結構，從實驗資料到大規模生物資料分析，現代生命科學越來越需要實驗與計算方法彼此結合。
Advances in genome sequencing and information technology have transformed the way biological research is conducted. From genome sequences and molecular structures to experimental measurements and large-scale biological datasets, modern life science increasingly depends on the integration of experimental and computational approaches.
本所匯集具有生命科學、生物資訊、基因體學、分子與結構生物學等不同專長的師資，透過跨領域的研究與教學，讓學生不只學習使用既有的技術與工具，也能從生物學問題出發，選擇、整合並發展適合的研究方法。
GIGB brings together faculty with expertise in life sciences, bioinformatics, genomics, and molecular and structural biology. Through interdisciplinary research and education, students learn not only to use existing technologies and analytical tools, but also to formulate biological questions and develop appropriate approaches to address them.

Why Genomics and Bioinformatics?
本所最初以生物資訊為核心成立。隨著高通量定序技術發展，生命科學開始產生前所未有的大量資料，基因體學與生物資訊也逐漸成為無法分割的研究領域。2009 年，本所因此擴展研究與教學範疇，正式更名為「基因體暨生物資訊學研究所」，以反映實驗生命科學與計算分析日益緊密的結合。
The Institute was originally established with bioinformatics at its core. As high-throughput sequencing began to generate biological data at an unprecedented scale, genomics and bioinformatics became increasingly inseparable. In 2009, the Institute expanded its research and educational scope and adopted its present name, reflecting the growing integration of experimental life science and computational analysis.
RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT
研究環境 Research Environment
本所的研究環境橫跨實驗生命科學與計算分析，提供從生物樣本、分子與結構研究、基因體定序，到生物資訊與大規模資料分析所需的研究條件。不同研究室具有互補的專長與設備，使研究問題可以從不同尺度與方法進行探索。
Our research environment spans experimental life science and computational analysis, supporting research from biological samples, molecular and structural studies, and genome sequencing to bioinformatics and large-scale data analysis. The complementary expertise and facilities of our laboratories allow biological questions to be explored across multiple scales and through different approaches.
除了所內的研究資源，本所亦透過國立中興大學的跨領域研究環境，以及與國內外研究機構的合作，讓學生接觸不同領域的技術、資料與研究問題。
Beyond the Institute, students benefit from the interdisciplinary research environment of National Chung Hsing University and collaborations with research institutions in Taiwan and abroad, providing access to diverse technologies, datasets, and scientific perspectives.

路線一｜校門口進入
Route 1｜From Main Entrance
● 紅色路線 Red Route
從本校正門進入直走，看到農業暨自然資源學院大樓左轉直走， 經過全家超商後再左轉一段路，經過報案亭後， 即可看到動植物防檢疫大樓後門入口，進入室內搭乘電梯至 7 樓本所。
Enter through the NCHU Main Entrance and continue straight. Turn left at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, then continue straight. After passing FamilyMart, turn left again and continue along the road. After passing the security booth, you will see the rear entrance of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Building. Enter the building and take the elevator to the 7th floor.
路線二｜國光路方向進入
Route 2｜From Guoguang Road
● 藍色路線 Blue Route
從國光路方向進入，經過動植物防檢疫大樓正門口及汽機車地下停車場出入口， 沿地下停車場出入口旁的人行道進入校園， 經過報案亭後即可看到動植物防檢疫大樓後門口， 進入室內搭乘電梯至 7 樓本所。
Enter from Guoguang Road and pass the main entrance of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Building and the underground parking entrance. Follow the pedestrian walkway beside the parking entrance into the campus. After passing the security booth, you will see the rear entrance of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Building. Enter the building and take the elevator to the 7th floor.
